I literally just finished the site. I have been busting my butt on this thing for about 3 days straight and finally finished. I had finished yesterday but then decided to change everything over to use SQL and PHP to generate pages dynamically. It pretty much turned out like a simple version of WordPress (what this site is built on). So go check out the site: Utilis | Ware

As soon as Apple gets back to me I will be swapping all of the apps over to the Utilis Ware name. This site will still function as my blog and will still contain updates about apps and goings-on. The Utilis Ware site also has a blog for product specific updates. Check it out and enjoy. Oh and you can follow us on twitter: @utilisware and like the page on facebook.

That’s all for now so check it out and enjoy! I will finally be getting back to coding instead of web design so I look forward to that.

I recently added a few syndication subscriptions to the site so that I could pull tech news from other sites and have posts for it here with links to the original site So I have unsubscribed and deleted all posts by the newsfeed

I recently added a few syndication subscriptions to the site so that I could pull tech news from other sites and have posts for it here with links to the original site. I decided that this was stupid and annoying. The damn newsfeed already out-posted me and my “Subscriber” users shot up to like 1700. I don’t believe these users are real and are in fact from the syndication since the majority of them are xxxx@www.syndicatedwebsite.com. I think the blog will benefit more by going back to just having posts by me, which will also force me to post more often . I was hoping to see some traffic spikes due to the newsfeed and I did see a minor spike but nothing worth getting excited over.

So I have unsubscribed and deleted all posts by the newsfeed. The blog is back to being in my control and not overwhelmingly spammy with different news items. I hope everyone enjoys this change because I love hearing from readers and anyone who wants to tells me what they would like to read about. If you find something interesting please feel free to comment about it, I read all of the comments and generally reply almost immediately. If you have anything you would like to learn about or even just read about then by all means drop a comment, email or whatever you want to draw my attention to what you want.

The blog has gone through an interesting number of changes since it started in May of 2009. The blog really doesn’t have a direction at the moment, I used to write about fitness, now it is more iPhone than anything and I tend to write about what I am working on and new releases of software that I finish and things like that. I am working on adding “tutorials” and code snippets to help demonstrate different ideas but for the most part I am just rambling on about whatever comes to mind.

Like I said I love to hear from readers so feel free to leave something, even a link to your own site (if it is related and not about viagra and other drugs or body enhancements) I am always up for some link trading. I would love to see more people active in the forums since I am the only person with any posts, I had more activity in the old forum which I dumped because it was ugly compared to phpBB.

I think that just about sums up the change to the blog and like usual Enjoy!

I literally StumbledUpon this program (pun intended) when checking out Ben Nadels Blog (bennadel.com). So far the site has some bugs but works very well at building web site traffic. The web site is su.pr.

You have to sign up for an account but they are only approving a few per week, you can try this invitation code: “suprbeta” to see if you can get in. StumbleUpon has created a site that allows you to link your Facebook and Twitter accounts to this supr account. This is great to get your website out there, the best part is it creates small links for each of the posts you make, and then analyzes each url for number of clicks, followers, etc. This means you can track how many people are visiting your site from your facebook status or tweets, and also lets you see what articles people seem most interested in.

The best part about supr is that it lets you install a script on your website so that your website will have its own short links (ie. chrissheldrick.com/shortlink) which can be tracked and used to build your domain name. I have been using supr since last night and have already generated a decent number of hits but they have not been picked up by googles analytics.

Try to sign up for supr if you have your own website and want to increase traffic.
