Chronic Dev Team has done it again and have released there very easy to use jailbreak tool for the Mac. They promised the wait wouldn’t be to long and they definitely delivered. The Chronic Dev Team have released their greenpois0n jailbreak using the USB exploit that geohot used in limera1n. You can go directly to the site or just download it here: Gp Win Rc3 for windows or gp_lin_rc3 for linux. The jailbreak works with:

- iPhone 4
- iPhone 3G S
- iPod touch (4th Generation)
- iPod touch (3rd Generation)
- iPad

There has been a ton of drama around the jailbreak community lately due to the release of limera1n. GeoHot (George Hotz) pulled the carpet out from underneath the Chronic Dev Team on 10/09 by releasing his exploit and jailbreak dubbed limera1n the day before the scheduled release of Chronic Dev Teams greenpois0n. The Dev Team had initially planned to release their exploit on 10/10 @ 10:10 but due to the ego maniac geohot releasing his exploit first, they now have to get back to work to implement geohot’s “stolen” exploit into their tool. The SHAtter exploit will remain unreleased until the next generation of iDevices so prevent Apple from patching the exploit. iPhone (4, 3GS, 3G) iOS4.0.1 JailBreak – Now Easier and More Legal Than Ever

In case you have not heard, no the bird is not the word, no really if you haven’t heard: You can jailbreak you iOS4.0 and iOS4.0.1 iDevices more easily than ever. How? Simple as going to: jailbreakme.com on your iDevice. This simple jailbreak operation seems to work flawlessly. This brings me back to the original jailbreak that was done via keeping the phone unactivated, opening an emergency call, typing a code, adding a contact and enabling the preferences, joining a wifi network, and then hitting the contacts website to go to, the very same site that we are using now! It’s funny how things seem to go back to where they started. Anyway this is simple and worked perfectly fine for my iPhone 4. Now that I am jailbroken, which was recently made LEGAL, although Apple never sued anyone who did jailbreak, we can customize our phones the way we went. There has only really been 1 problem and that is with Winterboard. If you don’t know, Winterboard is an app that is used to customize your theme, not everything is working correctly on the iPhone 4 since there has been some change to theme items names because of the HD retina display. Regardless, with my Elite Pro theme, my phone looks bad ass even though all of the customizations won’t kick in until Winterboard is updated.
