iPhone 4 Accessories

I usually do not buy expensive accessories for my iPhone aside from the occasional blue-tooth device which usually ends up lost, missing, or even thrown out. Generally I have been successful with getting a cheap case+screen protector from eBay and updating the case every few months. When I had my original iPhone First Generation I found an awesome little screen protector and body protector called Invisible Shield by ZAGG. The shield covered the entire body of the phone and was some what difficult to put on. With all of the curves on the original iPhone it was very hard to apply the shield correctly. The case did an awesome job of protecting the phone there was no scratches at all. After a short time I removed the case because with all of the curves the corners kept coming off making the case some what hard to use. iSupplement v2

Since I am still waiting for my iPhone 4 to be delivered either today or tomorrow or saturday I will not be starting work on iSupplement v2 for iOS4 until then. Once I receive my new iPhone I will begin working on all 4 of my apps to get them all up to date with iOS4. So far the only app that will really be gaining any new features will be iSupplement. It is my baby and I plan to listen to the feedback I have received to make it even more valuable. With that being said, I should probably begin brushing up on the new iOS4 features and figure out how I am going to implement them! Enjoy!

iPhone 4 – Problems

I was surprised when my fiancee told me she was getting me the iPhone 4 as my Father’s Day gift. She didn’t tell me this until after 6/15, which if she had told me before would have allowed me to pre-order on the 15th. Regardless I placed my “pre-order” on 6/21 with the information of  Ships By: 7/14 Delivered By: 7/15-19. I was very excited to see that my order shipped on 6/5 and the new delivery time seems to be 7/13 via FedEx. It sucks having to wait for something this exciting but I suppose the wait will make it all the more worth while. I haven’t upgraded my iPhone in 2 years, I do all of my development and testing on the iPhone 3g/iPod Touch. Insomnia….ugh

I’ve always wondered what it is like to not be able to sleep. When I was younger I always stayed up late despite having the TV turned off and the constant parental checks. Even with my late night pow wows I always found comfort that I could fall asleep when I wanted. I have never been much of a morning person, having always preferred to stay awake late and sleep late. As I got older I didn’t really notice to many changes in my sleep except for the fact that I go to bed earlier when I have to get up early. Days off are a free for all. Lately however, I have been having a horrible time sleeping or actually falling asleep. As far as I can tell this “insomnia” began after vacation and a week of prednisone for my back strain. I can lay awake – trying to sleep – for hours at a time, sometimes never even sleeping. I figured that this lack of sleep may be caused by my sleep pattern being so influx from vacation, but the problem continued. I began taking sleep aids to help get myself to feel tired enough to just drift off to sleep and these have worked with moderate success. Some days a double dose won’t get me to sleep, other days a double dose won’t let me wake up needless to say it has been a rough few weeks. The problem vanished for about 10 days while I was taking Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) the muscle relaxant for my back. The medicine made me drowsy all day and when I would get home from work I would just lay down and drift right into sleep. Now that I am out of muscle relaxers I see the problem slowly creeping up again and it is far more annoying than I ever could have imagined. When I was younger I used to love trying to stay up for as long as possible, I think my record was like 48-50 hours, now a days I just wish I could fall asleep. An ironic twist of course but so much does change as you get older and become more “responsible”.

New look for the Blog

After a few hours of non-stop theme hunting and customizing, I have finally gotten a fully customizable blog that supports everything I was looking for. After some custom editing the theme is now 100% better for my needs. The theme doesn’t throw a ton of colors at you (which I always hate) and instead is gentle on the eyes, and just damn simple to use. I am working on removing the “Pages” across the top because I don’t use pages, I would rather use categories. So my work is not yet done. Enjoy the new faster loading, less ad filled blog!!
