Dell Mini 9 Running OS X
Posted by Chris on Jun 10, 2009 in Technology | 0 comments
After many, many attempts to get retail OS X and iso OS X installed on my new dell mini 9 I have finally suceeded and am writing my blog entry from the mini 9 on a beautiful OS X 10.5.7.
Why OS X on Mini 9?
Well this seems like a simple enough question to ask, I enjoy technology and have always wanted a mac, which if you have ever looked will break most peoples bank! That being said, I also own an iPhone and have been dying to make my own apps for it. The problem? You can only develop apps on a Mac computer. Solution? Cheap netbook running Mac OS X. So I am working on some apps for the iPhone, and if I decide they are app store worthy I may sign up for the developer program.
Installation
I am not going to go into to detail about how to install OS X on the Dell simply because I am tired of reading about it, and there are tons of posts and directions all over the web. Just google for the dell mini 9 os x install and you will find guides by gizmodo, engadget, uneasy-silence, etc. Now the Mac OS runs great on the mini 9 and seems to have increased my battery life by about an hour.
This post may help to show my nerdy side, I love fitness and I love technology. I plan on adding more tech-oriented posts as the site grows, check back for more fitness information!
